a wonderful vintage hardback edition entitled The Plays of J. M. Barrie In One Volume , by J. M. Barrie (1860-1937), best known as creator of Peter Pan, Captain Hook and Never Land.
It was published by Hodder and Stoughton, of London, in 1930. This is a massive book and contains the following list of plays: Peter Pan, or the Boy Who Would Not Grow Up, Quality Street, The Admirable Crichton, Alice Sit-By-The-Fire, What Every Woman Knows, A Kiss For Cinderella, Dear Brutus, Mary Rose, Pantaloon, Half an Hour, Seven Women, Old Friends, Rosalind, The Will, The Twelve-Pound Look, The New Word, A Well-Remembered Voice, Barbaraâ€™s Wedding, The Old Lady Shows Her Medals, Shall We Join The Ladies? There is an introduction to each Act, followed by each characters lines. The book measures 8.75 inches x 5.75 inches and is over 2 inches thick! The 844 pages are neat and a little faded with age. The binding is very good with no loose or missing pages. The book is a former vintage library book with the usual stamps and stickers to the end papers.
The book has been professionally re-bound by the library with a (vintage) leather spine and solid red cloth boards. The cover is in good condition for its age with minor wear.
